Maywoods Activity Kits

Maywoods now has activity kits available for teachers and other environmental/outdoor education leaders to use during their visit. Each kit is designed to enhance a participant's outdoor learning. There are three kits devoted to exploring Maywoods' ecosystems; field, forest and stream. One kit is designed to explore the environment using GPS technology. Another kit addresses observing wildlife at Maywoods using the remote cameras. The lessons in each kit are developed for grades 4-9, but can easily be adapted to meet the needs of any age group. Also, the lessons meet state and national standards.
Each activity kit contains:

1. Student Journal
2. Lesson Plans
3. Most of the equipment to be used with the lessons

Note: Each lesson lists materials and equipment required, with special notation on the equipment present at Maywoods, equipment available through special arrangements with the Divsion of Natural Areas and materials/equipment the teacher/educator must provide.
